Is it worth for me to get a euro switch?

i have a 2001 jetta glx with hid kit installed. i was wondering it it is worth it so i can run just the parking lights and the intergrated fog light instead of the low beam?
Are these fog lights bright at night? Still using the same oem bulb. I had piaa super plasma in the fog light and when u turn them on with the hid it looks so crappy waist of 109 dollars.
