i'm into electronics... not like led nozzels or any of that gay stuff, but stereo's are a smell PRIORITY of mine but i get so much sh*t from others about oh you're about to blow $1k on the top of the line stereo equip.... you're dumb why not put that $1k under the hood? i see your point.. but i like stereo stuff... i love a nice loud good quality crystal clear audio system... should i go to hell for this? it's not like i ride around bumpin' the JayZ or anything i keep it to myself most of the time but i mean c'mon wtf... it's like i'm an evil villan for wanting what i want.. but am i really?

yea but everyone on the block around here already has one.. and that's what insurance is for, is it not? i'm not concerned with that if someone wants it, they're gonna come get it.. my chip, cams, and exhaust are already there... next step: stereo...

As long as its in good running condition, why not make the ride more enjoyable..
To some a more enjoyable ride means going faster.. to others more enjoyable means having music along the way

I listen to a lot of Jungle/Techno/eclectronic musik and after hearing it at clubs and parties, it sounds pretty lacklustre on a stock tapedeck. I spend a lot of time in my car so I decided that I needed a better stereo in it.
I've only put 600 into my i.c.e. and I'm happy with it. I have a decent headunit, two 6x9's, a 10" sub in a custom box i built, a small amp, and the stock front speakers (behind hipass filters). It sounds great, the bass is clean and lound and the imaging is as good as I need it to be

its not wrong man...i see alot of bias in this forum against car with bodykit and huge subs and stuff...i actually like bodykit (not on mk2's tho) as long as its not too overly done...i also like clean cars...stereo...nothing wrong...but if u get big sub box..it'll weigh you down...u can get lightweigh box and amplified subs like infinity basslinks, bazooka's...basically u r asking the opinion of diff people...some dun care are bout stereo but they don't hate it either...but they jsut suggesting what they like

not always...i know peep who got car stolen and stripped of engine, ecu, wiring harness as well heh heh...heck they stole my friend's glue stick in his glove box

no dude, there are 2 different types of car enthusiasts... the ones that are for the speed and the ones that are for the sound... i think they are equally justified... there is nothing better than going REALLY fast in a nice car (and killing hondas) but there is also something to be said for blasting (BLASTING) your favorite music in your favorite car, but you should also spend some money on alarms and reinforced doors and such... bomb proof your car unless you want your stereo equipment on ebay...

alarm doesnt help with stereo system and rims...most of time people jsut ignore it around here cuz it's so common...after a few false alarm am sure u wanna ignore it too...however maybe the starter disable *might* do something..until they disable ur alarm...u know my friend told me once had was at a paty and came back out to see his crx's engine gone...puhaha

A couple months after i got my car i put in a decent system:
Alpine 7863 HU
a/d/s/ 235is 5.25 components
MTX 350 watt amp
a/d/s/ 10" sub
The components are only powered by the deck. I'll probably eventually get an amp for them, but they sound really good none the less. My sub is losing its flair, it doesn't sound as good as it did when i got it. IT was used though.

Again, it's about personal preference. I have a small system in my car, but some people might consider it overkill. It's going to undergo some changes in the next month or two. I personally prefer something that looks stock, not all crazy and custom and obvious; one reason why I'm going to go to a stock rear deck and put speakers under the factory 4" grilles, instead of the 6x9's that are there currently. I also am not a huge fan of all the added weight 2 18's, 5 amps, and a buttload of MDF and fiberglas adds to a car...again, personal preference.

if u like big systems dont worry bout what other people think.
just like one of the guys said in an earlier post, make sure everything is taken care of under the hood. if not, ull be listening to that bangin system in your driveway.

i personally like more system then car but decided that i would split even and do a lil of both for now.

I spend 2 hours per day in the car. There's a difference between having a stereo and having some stupid waste of money system just so you can drive around the block trying to set off car alarms with your low bass tones

Do it do it do it! I used to have over 2000 watts in my x-cab Ranger it really made hondas mad to have a truck that was noticibly louder then they were. it was crystal even at 80 with all the windows down. Just don't forget the dyno mat.

There is nothing better than driving down the highway with all windows and sunroof open and still hearing crystal clear sound! I pump my steroeo wherever i go. not to show off, i just like my music loud and clean. Any car stereo is incomplete without subs and an amp, your missing half the music if you cant get the deeper notes. I think it just makes the music sound better http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif definately get one.. or come buy mine! 1000 watts of RF power and 3 JL subs, a couple components and your stylin' buddy

dude wanna talk about sanity? i currently have NO RADIO and i am insane.. i can be seen/heard singing aretha franklin goint 135 on the freeway... i'm not normal anymore...
and crystal clear sound at 80 on the highway w/ all the windows open is indeed sweet... that's what i'm shooting for... i like good music i like it loud i will have it loud... and i will love every minute of it
also... it is removable for weight purposes... sooooo where's the downside? that's right there isn't one...
