I test drove a Passat with the Monsoon. The sound was good but not spectacular. Is Monsoon significantly better than the standard audio otpion and therefore worth the extra money?

I have the monsoon and think it was worth the $500 (or whatever) price increase. It has good bass, good high end, but is really lacking in the mid's. So, not perfect, but clearly better than stock for the price.

I have had both and even though the monsoon is an improvement you should save your $$ and invest it in an aftermarket system. If you are a stock only person it is still a toss up at $500.
