actually i know which jack you're talking about... i'm trying to remember which mag i saw an ad for it in... IIRC, it's like an inch in height fully depressed.

yah, i cant find it either, I think it was advertised for some hotrods or something, I know it was like 400 or something dollars.
Flipp I already have 2x4's its a pain in the ass, the jack will be expensive, but very convenient so Im willing to drop the cash on it.

well you know, Griots Garage has one for around $400 which lowers to 2 3/4 inches, and it looks fackin sturdy.

What about using the stock jack to raise the car an inch or so so that you can fit a regular floor jack underneath! Thats what I do; to poor to buy the right kind of floor jack.
