will a chipped 1.8t beat a vr6 jetta with exhaust?
i own a 1.8t jetta and have a group of Vw and audi buddies and we like to drive against eachother a lot but none of our friends drive a VR6 jetta, so i was wondering how i would stack up........my friends 91 GTI VR6 will own me, granite he has many mods, but what about a jetta? thanx

if your friend's 91 vr6 owns you and you're chipped, then you suck at driving. dont plan on being faster than anyone.....
edit: didn't see your car will be "REVO soon" but still....against an older vr6, it should have been close

no he has a new VR6 engine it, and the car is stripped and weighs around 1800 lbs, with custom exhaust, intake, pulleys, ported head ect. it should have beaten me fair and square.....and it did, i give him props

Hey pal, when you race, you will lose from time to time. And besides youre gonna have to do a LOT to a car to compete with a car that weighs 1000 lbs less than yours and has more power. If you wanna know, race him, worst case scenario, you lose. I went to the track when my 1.8t was stock and i lost a lot, given it was mostly track cars. But hey. i beat this camero with a brand new engine unexpectedly. Dumb hick blew something up in his engine

. But race him and find out, dont be scared to lose

GTI VR6 or Jetta VR6 = Same,as long as they're 24V

No only chipped 1.8T will not beat Jetta VR6 with Exhaust

How sure are you about that???I raced many 1.8T's (both stock),beat them all...bad...now only chipped 1.8T will not do it,I raced with '04 1.8T Jetta with Chip,Intake,and a muffler and beat him

the only time he would pull on me was over 130mph due to my governour

I only had P-flow Intake and grounding Kit (didnt feel any difference with both mods)
Been there done that

depends on the driver (as long as the VR6 is not in an 1800 pound car)
