Call your local dealer. A member here with a GLI cracked his shortly after gettin his car. The piece (which includes the red trim) was $139 from the dealer. He didn't list the part number, but as long as you ask for the GLI bumper piece, they'll know.

anybody have a price on this part, and what else would I need to replace it with my 2.5 grille, I know lower grilles are a definite because they wouldnt match the honeycomb grille

I'm the guy who busted his grille on the 2nd day of ownership, sorry I missed this thread at first.
Here's a link to my original thread - it has some info on the part (for th upper grille at least) and a link to a PDF that walks you through taking off the grille.

I'm not the handiest guy with cars (oil changes and other basic maintance stuff), but I had no significant problems. The grille piece was about $150 (including tax). It took them a few weeks to get them in - at the time I ordered it the part, there were none in the country.
Can't help you on the lower grille, but if you have any questions on the upper part, let me know.
