Damn it. Hit the return button too soon. ROOKIE.
Here's all three.
I've had my 2.slow for too long now. I want more power, especially after driving my girlfriend's new GTI.
So, here's my informal poll:
Jetta GLI: New 24V 200hp VR6
Jetta GLS 1.8T: Love that turbo, a little less expensive.
Jetta GLS 1.8T Wagon: Again, love that 180hp turbo, all the pleasures of a Jetta with cargo room.
Let me know what you all think? Advantages/Disadvantages...the whole ball of wax.

I LOVED the GLI when I saw it at the NAIAS in Detroit. The interior fabrics are superior to any cloth interior I've experienced (goodbye lint!). It has a 6 speed, and plenty of power. I have a 1.8T and love it a lot; it's too bad the GLI only comes with the 24V. It would be the perfect Jetta if it had the 180hp 1.8T with a 6 speed manual.... <sigh>

1.8T in a GLI....that's the one.
Any word on when they'll be putting 6-speeds into all their line?

gli...................stock for stock its faster that a 1.8t in a jetta or gti.....................dont start talking about mods though all you 1.8t owners

..........we dont know how good the 24v reacts to mods! But from rumours and such from over seas you can be pushing 220 hp with a chip and destroy a 1.8t with a chip

VR6 is a flag ship engine for Golf/GTI/Jetta.Thats it.

I would but a GERMAN VW~go with a 1.8T Wagon. Order it custom painted in that new Platinum Gray that's on the NB.......Call that dealer in Flordia....They'll do it for you....You might have to wait a year though...

Thanks everyone. After this weekend, I think I'll be buying an Avant. It may take a little longer to pay off, but I needed Quattro in a bad way. Snow chains on a Jetta just don't work.

Anyone know if they plan on putting the new 24V Vr6 in the Wagon with six-speed too!
