Hi hi.

I have a 1983 Jetta I GLS that's automatic. And this morning I'm ready to go and my car doesn't start (not sparking)
I first thought it was my starter until I put my car in Neutral from Park and started again, it worked.

My dad and I believe that the gearbox switch has gone, so my car doesn't start in Park like it should.

Now my question is, is there a way that I can get it to work again or must I rather get a whole new gearbox?

It’s probably the switch, at the base of the lever. It’s easy to get to, in the car.
