has anyone replaced the stock speakers and left the stock head unit. And if so what speakers did you use and can you replace the speakers with speakers that have built in tweeters since the jetta comes with separate tweeters already. Do you have to remove the door panel to access the speakers or does the screen pop out in any way . any help would be appreciated im just stating out with my jetta modifcations all I have added so far is the K&N air filter.

I've replaced the speakers in my friends jetta but, I also replaced the HU also. So, I don't know how it would sound. I used Rockford Fosgate 6.5" components in his car. The only thing that I can tell you is that you are gonna need some kind of spacers. This is so the speakers won't interfere with the window.
To get to the speaker you have to take the whole door panel off. You won't be able to pop off the grill on the door...
Also you can use the coaxial speaker if you want. It should be a problem.
Re: jetta vr6 2oo1 speakers (Romnkar)

I replaced the stock monsoon with MBQuarts 51/4 seperates. Also replaced the amp with a cadence A4 500 watt amp. The monsoon amp wouldnt push most aftermarket speakers. Also have a profesional do the install cause the wiring for the amp could be quite difficult.
