Re: Jetta vs. IS300? (kineda)

i like the is300's.. The autos are a tad sluggish, but i love the styling. The yellow fogs. If only the tails were used in ever car following. But yeah they are cool, i have seen some fast ones, but mostly just in videos from japan.. none in the US.. until the 5spds get worked..

i read an article on the new 5 spd IS300 and they said that it didn't really compliment the car that much. its still not that fast and not that sporty, granted, its probably a lot more fun than the auto... i think the article was in european car?

IS definately sounds like a fun car.. it seems kind of chicky as well (all the people at my school who drive one, except one person are female). IS's advantages is availability of xenon lights, navigation, powder coated rims, etc.. from the factory, but most importantly _RWD_. In the 1/4 mile, as I was told, if an FWD car and a RWD car have the same trap speed, it's most likely that thet RWD will still have the lowest ET. The biggest problem with IS is the tail lights.. anyone Joey moded IS tail lights? The best thing about the Jetta is that they're cheap to mod, and voiding your waranty on a Volkswagen isn't like voiding your waranty on a Lexus. And yes, it looks original (the Jetta) when properly moded.

Re: Jetta vs. IS300? (Turbobug)

I'll keep my 4motion and with the money I saved, I can get heaps more upgrades. hehehe if I had money to begin with. But agreed, the IS300 is a decent looking machine, I dont like the tail lights, that is all.

IS300 all the way, if you can afford it. Sure your Jetta is awesome, but nothing compares to the level of service you get from Lexus dealerships. And I think the IS looks just so much better than the Mk4 Jetta, which ain't ugly to begin with.
Edit:
The main reason I didn't even consider getting an IS300, is because at the time they were automatics only. Now that the manual 6-speed is here, no reason not to buy other than possibly price.

IS300 is a very nice car. looking in the mid 30's for a nice one.
I hate the tails on that thing. I whish some one make something
different.
To me the IS is just another BMW wanaB. If you have the money man
I will like to see you driving a 330c1, If you going to spend that kind of
money for a car... Why Don't you get the REAL THING.
