Is there any "Safe" way to joey mod OEM HIDS so that there is no leaking or sealing problems afterwards......i will be recieivng mine this week, and wanted to retain the smoked look of the 20th AE lights, but i am hesitant to bust these puppies open and do it....anyone do it with success in a high humidty area such as the northeast?

Re: Joey Mod OEM HIDS (SHUMopper)

oh man, u must have alot of brass.....ive broken my drivers side adjusting screw and fortunately i got a replacement...after installing them, leveling them and everything i know these are the most sensitive lights ever and i wouldnt dare dismantle them for the fear of breaking a little piece and getting screwed.
Dude be extremely careful if u do this

Re: Joey Mod OEM HIDS (SHUMopper)

i did it to mine...
but the only reason i did it was because i "had" to...
one of my glass lens was badly cracked...

having done through it already...i would advice you not to do it.
it's extremely hard to get the glass lens off the housing.
the glue is not the same as stock glue (where the lens is plastic, and you can remove it with a heat gun).
i had to break mine open...and sacrificed my stock plastic lens to replace these.
i'm not sure what the others did to accomplish this...
but now knowing that i had to go through all that, i wouldn't do it again...(unless i had to)
it was a pain.
