Decided I was going to clean my throttlebody today , yeah ok BIG DEAL right, undid intake boot, plug wires THATS ALL. Fire her back up, shes missing, missing really really bad like on 1 cylinder. Rechecked everything, and everything again wow, huh still won't firing stay on unless I give her 3/4 throttle. I have had it I am done. Tow the bitch up to my mechanic with a letter reading everything that is going on etc etc etc. Ok so yeah you think everything is gravy? I am such a ****head I locked my keys in my car, and now I can't even get in. Yeah what about the spare keys? Well let's see my dad won't pickup his cell phone, he stole the homephone and just took off , nowhere to be found. And here I sit worrying about my car, while I should be worrying about my moms cancer/the NY move/countless other family situations, ok ok fudge my car, its just a friggin car she's for sale. that is , if the piece of poop will start. Oh yeah I am a really really really nice guy to maybe I will get a girlfriend? or im too nice?

I know how you feel man... Onde day I changed the thermostat in my 4-dr and she didn't run again for 2 weeks. What happened? I dunno, I rebuilt the entire fuel dizzy and advanced the ignition timing a little and now she runs like nothing ever happened.
Go figure... Dubs can be weird.
Give it a couple days. Things will pass and it will all seem better. As for te girl situation, I told ya. Take a trip to philly and I'll hook you up!!!

Smile dude... I know.

Check the plug wires. Maybe you put them back on in the wrong order? We did that on our old MG during a tuneup, ran like what you're describing. Easy mistake to make. Good luck!

Yo Blitz I had the same problem with my car this past week. turns out that I ripped the Intake boot (rubber) attached to the Throttle bodie. I taped it up and it worked fine. Check any and all vaccume lines near where you were working as well as all the boots attached to the airbox and such.

Dude told you not to molest her unless I was there to supervise.
J/K man. Hope it's nothing serious..like it sucked up something and it's inside your engine.
Maybe you just got the wires on the wrong order. Good Luck.

Re: Julia's dead, what a bad friggin day. (Mk2JettaGLi)

My guess is two wires are in the wrong order or a plug or two got badly fouled.
Julia used to run bad when the rubber boot coming right off the fuel distributor had a crack in it. $15 to the VW dealer for a new piece of rubber and the car went from pissing me off at red lights to being smooth as glass... That unmetered air just threw it for a loop.
But I guess wires swapped. I've done it before on another car.

I believe it... I walked away with only a small scar on my left temple (from my head hitting the driver's side window) when I nailed a tree at 45+mph in my 84 GTI. That was long ago and far away, and I don't do stupid poop like that anymore.

dude, how did you lock your keys in the car? theres a saftey in the drivers latch to prevent that, the only way to lock the car is to turn the key in the door from the outside, assuming you dont have keyless entry.
anyway the more important concern, like everybody else said check your plug wires. good luck. and if you still dont get it, tow that sucker to NY and i'll give you a hand, later...
