ok im posting this for a friend he has a 01' gti with chip and other basic mods but if were cruising on the highway and the cars in 5th and the rpms drop below 4k the car just takes itself out of gear,the shift knob shakes the lower the rpms go. were thinking its the tranny mounts ,they will be replaced monday but dose any 1 have any info on this? thanks

hey you need to take it to your dealer bc theres a little piece of plastic to space out the gears to keep you from going into two gears at the same time and its connected to a rod. the rod or the little piece of plastic are twisted. it takes about a week to fix at my dealer bc they suck but to avoid it a second time make sure the clutch is pushed all the way in while shifting and double click shift. NO POWERSHIFTING until you get a short shoift kit

i used to have this problem, then i realized i was pulling on the shifter slightly, pulling it out...

no its not that we've had a few people take it for a drive and the same thing happens. when the rpm's get to low in too high of a gear and your off the throttle when u step back on it the cars out of gear and just revs up. new motor mounts and tranny mounts are being installed now and ill tell him about the rod and plastic peice , thanks 4 the info guys http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
