today i had a little run in with a white trash junk yard worker who tried to tell me about VW's. He was being an @$$hole to start and made fun on my bowling shoes, which i love and then he tried to tell me that the 8v in a golf and jetta are differnt and that the golf gl 90-92 didnt have the same 8v as the 8v gti. i told him i was positive and he was like good luck you wont find it the engines are differnt, sure enough i found the little piece in an 8v jetta. sorry but i had to vent, anyone have run ins with junkyad a holes???

I had to spend 10 minutes explaining the Difference in 1985-1992 Golfs and Jettas and mid 1990- 1992 Mex vws
The computers says "1985-1992" the Person on the counter showing me a small bumper golf turn signal
Me: The computer isn't always right (me being a computer tech/vw fan)
she points to the screen to show me
Me: that still doesn't give me the part I need, unless you want to sell me the entire bumper setup, then I talk about the Big Bumper/Small Bumper Difference and hope if another dubber comes in they will get the right part needed
I didn't try to sound like an a hole, but I didn't drive 10 minutes out of town to get a small bumper turn signal for a 92 big bumper carl, after I even called to make sure they had the part in stock.

Mines not about a Junkyard worker, but at my school, in the lounge yesterday, i was talking to my friend who has a MX-6 and he was with 2 other guys, one has a 79 Civic and a older Jag, and the other has a riced out 2000 corolla with vinyl on the side and mesh in the grill with a 5" exhaust, looks like it drove through Pep Boys with a magnet. I was talking about how I'm saving for a MKII and how I have a VR waiting to go in. And the guy with the Jag was pretty cool and asking me if it would bolt up, if I'd need to change subframes and such and meanwhile "Rice Rolla" was rolling his eyes and laughing. The "Jag" was talking about how he was going to get a Rio for his next beater and how he wants to rice it up on purpose with the stupidest stuff he can find. I said "A Kia Rio is near the bottom of my list of cars I'd soup up, it's right above "Toyota Corolla"
It wasn't the best burn ever, but I got satisfaction from it.
I usually catch alot of s*it for always being on the 'Tex before (usually during) class. This one guy thought he be a smart ass and ask if I had gotten any VW models for Christmas, and I was like "Yeah, so?". And he drives his mom's Corsica

I went to this one junk yard for a few years and gave them a lot of business, then one day i go there and the owner starts accusing me of stealing. I was shocked, so after i flipped out on him i jumped in my dads 4.3 s-10 zr2 and thats where the fun began. the parking lot was dirt and the owners mercedes benz convertible was out there with the top down. There were also about 5 cars for sale, well i spent about 5 minuted doing burnouts in the dirt, totally covered his benz, cracked a windshield with a rock that my tire kicked up, and got dirt all inside the motor of a car they were changing the head gasket on. It made me satisfied, so i left.

lol!! Zack's a cool guy...maybe dropped a few too many tabs when he was youger but cool non the less.

I asked how much for a set of sport cloth seats from a 2003 GTI. $250, taken out Then I asked him how much for a set of regular cloth New Beetle seats. $450, because they had airbags in them.

I wrote a $250 check really fast...
As I was dragging a G60 trans through the checkout... " Is that an 8v or 16v trans?" I said 8, because, technically lt is... "oh, those are common... $50 sound good?" I wrote a $50 check really fast...
How much for the whole Red 1990 GLI out in the yard? "$250"... That'd be the one with the 1.8l 16v head on a 2.0 16v block, nuespeed cams, unorthodox pulleys, header, mint power recaro interior, RPI brakes, chip, ABD big bore thottle body and intake tube, TT exhaust, bilstiens on neuspeed springs, monowiper... $250?, yup, here you go...

I had to put a fuel pump fuse and a rear window in it though... so I almost passed

Yeah, this place Blinkers and More here in CT used to be a walkthrough yard... so me and my crew began walking down the path to the yard, and this old bastard came out and yelled at us. Said we had to have an escort. THEN, he says that only 1 of us can come at a time. There were 6 of us each with something to get. So we had to give a "shopping list" to my buddy Mike, and he went in with the old coot. Thought he was gonna get mugged. lol. Just a crappy day. It was an informal gtg... which tuned into us all standing around for an hour while Mike sifted through parts. Yay.

I went to a JY and was looking for the left and right A3 foglight assembly
Owner said: oh you want the indicators in the bumpers
I said: No, the foglights in the bumpers.
Owner: We don't have any of those.
I said: I can see three A3 jettas on the side. Can I check 'em?
Owner: Sure, be my guest.
Each Jetta had a set of foglights in perfect shape.
I went back in and before I could say anything,
Owner: I told you. If you need the indicators and all of its components $25 each.
I said: (Sounding reluctant) Yeah, ok, you never know when you need and extra set of indicators.
Took 'em off and brought them inside to pay him.
Owner: yep, that's them indicators.
Paid him and ran!

So i have to talk to these dudes and they know nothing and treat kids like ****. I go in one day to get a rear drivers side door for my old jetta.
Me: I need a good drivers side rear door from an 85-92 4dr jetta
Him:What year, they are all different.
Me:well they arent all different but my car is 89

Him:OK let me see what I have (goes to computer comes back a couple minutes later) We have one that has rust on the bottom of it, you can have it for $150

Me:

Umm what color is it?
Him:blank stareSilence......I dont know
Me: So you dont have any others
Him:No that was the best one
Me:OK man no thanks, peace

The same yard also wanted 250 for the front big bumper and 200 for the rear big bumper
