Well my dad and I went in togeather and got a thule ski rack with all the attachments needed for all 3 cars in the family.
I just looked at how the fit kit mounts to the VW points. Has anybody had any problem with that weather striping causing any problems after it has been removed and reattached a couple times from putting the rack up and taking it down?

I've pulled the weather stripping out and reinstalled it probably 20+ times with no problems, when installing/removing my Thule rack. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

This rack is very interesting to figure out b/c they send you so many extra parts. But my dad and I have finaly got it all setup. We will give it a nice hard test when we goto canada in a month.

as bora said, the weather stripping is very tough, and its not attached with glue or anything, just friction, so no problems.

For some reason I am a big fan of the way that cars look with a ski/bike rack on top.... pics please
