I just got my hands on a 1996 2.0 Jetta TREK. Not the fastest thing out there, but it is a great daily driver. Would anyone be able to give me some idea on things to look out for, or things to check out before it starts its daily driver status

when I got my car, I spent and arseload on back maintenence and a new clutch. I figured before I start modding, it should be as good as new. Good luck with the daily...and I am sure you will continue to drive the corrado quite a bit.

Hey John,
I'd do a basic tuneup - plugs, cap and rotor - check all the belts - if the car is over 60k miles - determine if the timing belt and serpentine have been changed - if not I'd say do them. Also run a techron treatment through a tank of gas to clean up your injectors - also check the condition of the brakes. Last but not least change the oil. If everything checks out you will be starting with a good foundation for your daily driver. Hope to see u and check out the car soon - drop me an email about the Philly GTG on Sunday.

Thanks for the info. I had plans to give it the full tune up. First time posting in the GIII and JIII. wow is easy to get dropped off the top in here. I plan on making the GTG in the Raddo, Mendra. I'll call ya sat to set it up

I wish i didn't know the feeling of putting mass amounts of money into a used car, but the owner had most records and seemed fairly into dubs. His father is our company's cleaning guy, so if it goes bad his pops will hear about it EVERYDAY http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
