Forge polyurethane dogbone motor mount bushings. Install took 40 minutes; incredibly easy. Car feels more solid; like its putting power to the ground better. Vibration has increased but it's only noticeable at idle. Nice little mod for under $40 shipped.

Re: Just installed the... (WildRover)

I hope to buy an ECS set this week.
Only at idle, how bad is it really? I hear take-off is bad as well. If I buy a set and don't like them, will someone buy them off me? I'll sell them for 35 shipped.
We can work something out.....IM me people ....

no wheel hop..
smoother shifts...

I had a dog bone in my 02 GTI, but the wheel hop was not eliminated. Reduced, yes, eliminated no. The car did shift smooth (except for the vibration). I had it in for over 13K miles, and as time passes, the vibration decreased. Some, I got used to it, the rest from break-in of the mount. It's a good mod. It becomes easy to interchange between the two if you have reservations or other reasons to take it out.

it seems easier to prevent the engine from taking a dump while letting off the clutch from a stand still. Shifts smoother. Vibration - slight steering column vibration at idle worse with AC on but not annoying for me at least. I only notice the vibration coming from the steering column/wheel; the whole car does not vibrate. The car does seem like its hooking up better.
