Just installed TT exhaust with Borla Muffler !!!!!!!!!! Gr8est sound EVER !! MUST READ

had 2 friends over and tore off my old exhaust and put on the new one
it was quite funny
my dad went out and bought stone cutting disks for a drill to cut off the old exhaust and the disks just kept snapping
so we jummy rigged a fiber cutting disk onto a circular saw and my dad cut it off for us ---- sparks were flying everywhere (if i can get the pic on here i will post it)
anyway there is a small black brace i had to remove under the cat/straight pipe connection which was used to create support for the body im guessing ?!
when i put it back on =--- it rattled against the straight pipe and cat bracket --- so i removed it seeing as it didnt do much b/c i drove without it for a few days and didnt feel a difference at all
anything else i should be checking ??? how long with it take to break in ?!!!! and should i retighten it everyday or just once in a while
Luckily no rattles AT ALL --- only one at first but it turned out to be that brace
thanx guys
and thanx to Steve, Josh and my dad for helping me out http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Me and two friends did the same thing, but no cutting disks. We used a pipe cutter, then chisels, then WD-40, then a bigass wrench with a 3' breaker bar to remove the cat clamp bolt...it was fun
That brace is pretty important, it supports the cat and exhaust, so if your exhaust broke or bent nothing will hit the ground. Mine was rattling there too, turned out the pipe wasn't pushed onto the cat far enough. Heated it up, pushed it on further, it's perfect now

yeah but when i took the brace off it didnt rattle
so im guessing if i loosen the bracket that connects the cat and straight pipe and the bracket that connects the midpipe and straight pipe and tap the straight pipe up further then the bracket will clear that brace ?
also i hear a very light hummmmmmm when goin over bumps
feels like the midpipe might be hitting a little ---- have that problem ?!

still havent got my chip in
my friend snapped off the latch on the ECU harness so i dont know what im goin to do now ?!!!

When you install your exaust i used about a can of WD-40 to spray all over the bolts about an hour before i took my exaust off the WD-40 helped a ton on some of the bolts I used a breaker bar with a Craftsman ratchet i would strongly advise you not to use this method seeing that the ratchet doesent work quit right any more. Time to go to Sears and exchange the broken ratchet... ya gotta love the life time warrenty on there tools

Actually, there are products out there that are better than WD-40. Have you guys ever heard of PB Blaster? PB Blaster comes in a spray can (duh) and is probably the best penetrating lubricant on the market. It has a test you can do right on the can. Spray some WD-40 in a styrofoam cup and PB Blaster in the other. The PB eats the styrofoam! This stuff saved me from having to drill a stud out of a rotor on a Camaro. Great product, can find it almost anywhere. Spray it, leave it for a couple minutes, then wrench off the part. Works even better when the part is a little warm.
