K&N 57i Performance Injection Kit...wheres the love???

1222 Views 32 Replies 14 Participants Last post by  MRO881E
With all this talk about Turn2, Eurosport, and what not...what about the K&N induction kit people?!
Its basically the most popular intake kit in Europe and its surprising that basically no one has one.
Great quality and performance gains from this kit...also comes with a "million mile warranty" http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

depending on VR6 or 2.0 (VR6 more money), anywhere from $65-90...more or less...thats the thing, too! its soo damn cheap..maybe barely over $100 tops cause of shipping
Re: K&N 57i Performance Injection Kit...wheres the love??? (J-kiD)

Everyone knows about the K&N kit but the turn2 stuff is new so it's popular.
I've always wanted a K&N induction kit but none of my local tuners carry it. Could you get me a website that does?
*EDIT* It's INDUCTION not injection!

its injection or induction...i've seen both...but there are numerous places that sell it. I know [email protected] will get you one...just go on a bunch of different websites from europe and they'll hook it up as well. Other places are cheaper than others and i have seen some incredible prices on these kits.

Guys, I got my 57i for my 2.0 16v for £45 GBP (roughly $72) amd it was simple to fit etc, but I have removed it as the standard box with a K&N panel filter gives a better drive... well, in my opinion anyway! Try http://www.larkspeed.com
I got a fair power gain from the 57i though - standard car is 150bhp, with 57i and a remus back box I got 170bhp!

Re: (WRC Dorikin)

ha ha ha ha WHAT?????

That is proven on a rolling road at Star Performance in Glenrothes, Scotland. It was 170.5 to be exact, with 149lb/ft. The 2.0 16v engine was de-tuned by VW so that there was more of a gap between it and the VR6. A chip on the standard car gives over 175bhp.

rolling road? what the hell you talking about...a dyno? ya i want to see a dyno chart saing you gained 30 hp with a chip and exhaust on your 2.0 16 v
a chip on a standard car gives you 175 bhp from 150 bhp HAHAHAHAAAAAAAAA

Re: (WRC Dorikin)

from 150 to 170 is a 20bhp increase, not 30

Yes, a rolling road is a dyno. No print out I am afraid
Plenty witnesses on the day, and a mention of it in a magazine (VW Motorist) a few months ago as the day was covered by that magazine and Club GTI.
The reason a chip gives 25bhp is, as I said before, VW detuned the 2.0 16v in Europe so that there was more of a step between the cars. 8v GTI 115bhp, 16v GTI 150bhp and VR6 174bhp. That is why a simple chip can boost bhp back to where it should have been.
Whether you choose to believe me or not, my car ran 170.5bhp with only the back box and a 57i. The ECU was removed and checked on the offchance it had been chipped, but it had the standard VW chip.
Have a good weekend
