The topic is pretty self explanatory here. Let us know how much it cost you to have your K04 turbo installed.
The only number I've heard so far is $850

can't imagine it'd be more than $200-$300...you might want to try to start making friends with people who know their way around the 1.8t...My friend charges me $15/hr.

Doh! why did you need a new heat sheild??(it was part of a TSB warranty on older passat/A4s). Braided stainless teflon coated oil supply line is yours for $25. IM me if you need one.

Matrix told me 5-6 hours at ~$60/hr.
I'd like to get a hold of Pete Ross who lives in this area and see if he can do it cheaper. He is a Master Tech...Pete are you reading this?

Re: K04 People - How much was your install? (Gambit)

These are the reasons I do ALL mods myself. If you are handy, and hang with guys in the know, you're all set. I have saved so much money like that.

NGP, in MD, charged someone $250 dollars total. That seems about right - it's not rocket science

Yeah that's what I'm saying 4 hours for a guy who did it his first time for me. And I had to run and get some tools. And I mean RUN as this is my only car.
Re: K04 People - How much was your install? (Bug_Power)

I love how much I save doing my own mech work too, but then I cringe when I think abotu what I spend on the tools

Yeah but the next time you'll have them all! I've purchased tools as I've needed them and really didn't buy many name brand tools. 2 tools that I think you should spend the loot on is ratchets and air compressor. I've used mine more times then I can count. Plus for most major jobs you can rent airtools. Like re-shingling the house or building a deck.
