Love this

I notice the green turns/dummies came in a box labeled MHW. I have a set of Hella blue turns/dummies, and they were hard to find since they have been discontinued for quite a while from what I understand. Is MHW another company that makes them? And if so are they still in production? Just curious.

Props for such a clean find! I can Appreciate the love of th surf green but I think there mioght be too much going on.. it could use something to set it off... silver/black/white (wheels? idk) ... seems to be quality work though:thumbup:

where did you get the colored fog/turn/dummy setup and what did you use to paint the wheels?
I got them from a fellow vortexer, who got them from Europe. And the wheels were painted to match.

Love this

Yeah, I thought the same. I know Hella made fronts because of the tails. But I hadn't heard of the MHW before. To be honest, they aren't the best quality. This set was brand new, and since I really needed some greens to complete my theme, and I couldn't find Hella's, I had to purchase them. If I can find a set of Hella green front turns/dummys that are in good condition, I'll snag those too.

Thanks for the input. I was going for a total 90's monochromatic look, and I couldnt be happier. So, all the green is staying for a while. I am working on another set of wheels. Something in the 16x9/9.5 variety, and those wont be green

great car. looks awesome. good job
thanks!

Hit up Thorsten (german-dub). He's in Germany and is a good source for rare VW and Hella parts. I got my blue turns/dummies from him for an excellent price, and they are in perfect condition.

already did, he didnt have any. He found a set about a week ago but they were cracked. I would rather rock these in mint condition then a cracked set. Thanks though

It's so funny because I remembered seeing this on AutoTrader almost a year ago and was really close to flying out and driving it back cause I've always wanted a Surf Green VR. I saw the pictures of your car in the MKIII picture thread and I had a hunch it was the same car, and it sure enough was!

Very good work you've done so far :thumbup:

Thanks Man! Yeah I was looking for a low mile GTI VR and I didnt want black, blue or sequoia. So that really limited my options. after looking at a couple in person in WA and OR, I decided to expand my search. First day I saw the add, I knew I had to hop on it. I'm Glad I did.

I was able to get Tim Tomas to do a vehicle inspection for me before I flew down to drive it back. He was the one that built it. Everything checked out, glad it did. Love the car
