my keyless entry remote has worn out buttons and it no longer works i put new batts in it but i didn't work so i went to the dealer to get new ones and the guy there told me that they would cost like a $100. is this true. u can get new systems with 2 keys for less than $150.

you might be able to find some remotes on ebay or in the classified section, I think you'll just have to take it to somewhere to get it programmed after that.

my tuning zubehor mag has universal remote systems that can control anything even doors and it comes with two keys and the control unit. it has either 2 of 4 buttons remotes, the 4 button is only $120 bucks so i don't see how just a extra vw remote is $100 bucks.
