Will the konig Imagines go with my stock 17" Michelins? Sorry but I have no clue when it comes to tires.

According to Discount Tire Konig Imagines are available in 5x100 at 17x7 so your stock tires should fit.

you may want to reconsider getting 17's. they come in ET40, which is coming pretty close to your brakes. you may need spacers to clear, especially if you have a vr6. i just got the imagines in 18, ET35 and fit perfectly...

If you check with your local tire shop they'll tell you the same thing. Well at least mine did in fact he wouldn't even sell the 17s to me cause he said they wouldn't fit. And if you go to Discount tire and search by vehicle the 17s won't show up for your car for this same reason.

17's fit no problem.. at least on TDI's.. They put in a spacer(i forget the size) and my Tantrums clear the brakes easily.. there is barely any space between the wheel and caliper on my buddy's Golf with OEM wheels..
for a 1.8t it's PLus 1 sizing, and for the VR6, it is Plus 0.

Uh, I think the engine has nothing to do with brake clearance... all MK4 Golfs, no matter what motor they have, share the same chassis.
