i ve been thinking that us as the vw community have to do something worldwide on july 30 to celebrate the end of an era , any ideas ? i m very sad about the whole thing so i would like to do something , kinda like in memory?

We could all drive our VW with a farewall sing on the window. Air-cooled or water-cooled.

Im in that sounds cool but we need more ppl to do this and what was the first production year of the beetle i should know this but i dont

I'm guessing 1938 was the first Beetle. Anyone can vouch for this? I know there is a '38 Beetle (not a prototype), not sure if there's any earlier.
Just did a quick research:

First prototype beetle. 1000 (984) engine, 22hp, 5.8 to 1 compression ratio.
1936
1000 (985) engine, 22hp, 5.8 to 1 compression ratio.
1937
External oil cooler added to take care of cooling problem.
1938
Split Rear Window installed.

It seems that accepted Beetle birthday is 1934. That's what I'm putting in my window anyways.

What I'm gonna do is go to the local dealer and buy one of the Ultima Edicion Beetles. Sounds like a fitting tribute
