Latest on Bilstein PSS9's?

Does somebody want to help me out by telling me what the latest is on the Bilstein PSS9's in relation to the knocking sound given off in threar due to minor change from the late 2001 model and up. I have a 2002 GTI 1.8T and am thinking about getting either the PSS9's or H&R's but would prefer the PSS9's because they are cheaper and ride adjustable. Would appreciate your input. I don't want to spend the extra money if the problem has been fixed or if there is no problem at all. Thanks alot.
