Lawyer Needed for Sandy Oregon Speed Trap!

475 Views 12 Replies 8 Participants Last post by  l80sman104
I was driving to see a friend and I needed gas so I went into the Texaco station in sandy on Hwy 26. I pulled out not knowing that the speed limit had dropped from 40 to 25mph! Any way there was a truck coming so I decided to speed up to the flow of traffic which was around 40. Yes, he was speeding too folks.
Anyway, got busted by a cop who was sitting there just chilling'. I have a REALLY BAD driving record that I have been trying to keep clean for quite some time now. Is a lawyer going to help me? I need this dropped, not reduced. Thanks for your help.

A lawer will be able to drop 99% of all non-criminal tickets, and most won't charge you if they don't win. Deffinitely worth a shot, you really have nothing to lose. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

no, man, you can take a traffic diversion class, too. i've taken two! it cost's like $125, but your ticket gets dropped- no insurance trouble. kicker is if you get a ticket in the following year, they tack on the original one you diverted! it's a gamble, but if you are worried insurance will drop you it's a good alternative.

You could make a really big scene in court and get on your knees and beg. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif prolly wont work, but its worth a try, then id go with the diversion thing. You could ask for driving probation. I had that, i was on this for 1 year, and my ticket was dropped as long as i didnt get any in the next 12 mos, but if i did, i got both tickets, and my licence was suspended. i had 14 points on my record at that time. http://****************.com/smile/emthdown.gif http://****************.com/smile/emthdown.gif

Well those three options should help out alot. Thanks...
Anyone want to start a movement against TINY towns that set residential speed limit zones right in the middle of state highways? I think with enough support we can beat this "Sandy" place. If that's even it's real name....

The speed traps are a prolbrem in the wa, SR 2 up to stevens pass, Watch out, tickets suck but on the flip side if you lived in the little town you wouldnt whant people zipping by all the time. Good Luck with the Ticket,

That's what my other point is. If they put their town right on the highway then people WILL come speeding by. People will want to get rid of that speed limit that get tickets there but the small town has the support of all the locals who don't want people going fast through their town.
That's what I think their trick is. The small towns that put themselves on the hwy like that are only looking to make money off of visitors/passers by. As such they know how much money is in the traffic ticket game too. Everyone here can't tell me the [person who calls the shot here] didn't know what they were doing when they set the speed limit so low... It's all business through there, a completely unnecessary 25mph speed limit.
I was going 42 which would have been all good if the speed limit was 35. Lets get Sandy to bump it up to 35!!! C'mon, who's with me? http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
