Lay flat rear wiper... how?
I'm sure this will have been covered before, apologies!
How do you get the rear wiper to lay flat along the bottom edge of the screen?

Yep, after a LOT of wind tunnel testing they found that parking the wiper at an angle was more aerodynamic than parking it flat. They only sorted out the aerodynamic problem with the Golf III!!! Apparently if you have a spoiler fitted to your Golf I or II it helps though.

Well I'm no expert on aerodynamics, but wind resistance isn't lowered by just having an aerodynamic front end, because the air fills the area immediately behind the car after the car has passed, so basically you have to make your car's rear reasonably smooth, and VW found that by parking the wiper at an angle, the air passed over the car easier!!
And the Golf II isn't a brick, it's drag coefficient is .32, the sdame as an Audi TT!!!

Now this one I'm embarrassed to admit I didn't know after being an A2 owner for many years. I guess since I thought it was higher, I wasn't motivated to really know !

Thus I have just now exhausted my entire knowledge of anything to do with VW ever

I took my rear wiper right out , I never use it. Took out the motor , wiper arm and used a gromet to cover up the hole.....I think it looks ok too , never did like it anyways

i didn't know the it had the same cx as the tt, actually never thought of the cx of a mk2, thought it would be through the roof
