What's the story with the wattage values/ brightness of LED work lights?

I want to put some LED work lights on the the van for outdoor work.
Does anyone know anything about the brightness and the number of watts needed?

There's 15w and 25w online. The numbers seem pretty low but maybe they'll do the best.
I'm based in Ireland so it's basically either overcast or dark all the bloody time!

Anyone have any experience on this?

Look for lumens, not watts. A 100w incandescent is in the range of 1400-1700 lumens and is the equivalent of a 14-20w LED.

Make sure you know what colour temp you want and what beam. If they're work lights, probably a flood would be best. Cool white would be ~3000k and warm white ~6000k. If you look at headlights, something like a BMW is usually 4300k.

The light I'm looking at it's a 27w 'Flood Beam'.
So based on what you've outlined there it should be a good choice for the job.
It has high wattage for an LED type and it's 'flood' as opposed to 'spot'.
