Re: (97SequoiaVR6)
just speaking from my experiences, not like i am a pro suspension guy or something
could be assortment of things, make a run down list. You say a few things were changed to new parts, but were the other parts that go with those changed also, like the hubs were changed when the bearings were changed? OR the inner flange seal when the axles were changed?
It could be an assortment of things
Control arm bushings/loose bolts/nuts : Retorque everything to spec just to make sure nothing is loose, one small bolt could give the nastiest vibration, you can go on and on replacing parts ,but if that one bolt is never replaced ,whos to know. Also if the bushings inside the control arms are worn,it can also cause noises/vibrations.
Sway bar bushing/linkage,samething ,if the bushing is almost gone and its metal on metal,or its not torqued to spec,it can cause some irregular feedback.
Wheel bearings/hubs/knuckles,all three must be checked, the knuckles are rarely replaced because they are sturdy, but the hubs should be replaced when the bearings are, because if a bearing is worn and is siezing up at all,it can cause pits and irregular wear on the inside of the hub,so even if you put a new wheel bearing in,its not going to matter, its still going to cause problems right away....and eventually mess up your knuckle if it shakes so much it gets loose and starts grinding around.(happened to me a few times)
axles, when changing axles,ALWAYS you gotta make sure to check the inner flanges on the tranny, check to see if they are tight and rotate properly, there are C clips that hold these on,after time they expand/wear and there causes play on the axle shaft and tranny, this can also cause a certain vibration in certain situations. The inner flange axle seals/C clips should be replaced everytime an axle is replaced. And most important the outer axle nut must be torqued to spec, around 189ft/lbs,"getting it as tight as you can" isnt a good option,so maybe the previous time the work was done to your car,it wasnt done thoroughly. And you are having some of these problems.
Ball joints/tie rods,if any of these nuts are loose that hold down the tie rods and ball joints, you can get a vibration, check torque specs,if there is any play in the outer tie rod, replace the inner no questions asked, having a worn inner and brand new outer can cause an uneven balance of steering response and if you do hit certain bumps/dips,it can cause something to get out of wack.
engine mounts, these are CRITICAL for torque specs, and make sure they are not busted, make sure all of them are torqued down properly http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
wheel/tires you said you already tried a new set/balanced etc etc...ok
so all in all it could be alot of things lol my guess is something is loose if you have been replacing all sorts of stuff left and right.
