the wife and i just traded the '98 1.8t sedan (w/toasted clutch, brakes, flakey locks, trashed sunroof trax, 112k) in on a 4MO tip wagon (1.8t). $5K off sticker! minus the trade, we got it for around $21,500. cha-ching! shadow blue, grey leatherette (we've got a kid on the way) and we bought it with a home equity loan (read: tax deduction on the interest!)

Very nice...... congrats. I have thought about seeing what they can do on my 2002 1.8T.... but then I'd have to start over again. But I think I'll pay off my Passat and then get a cheap used Pontiac GTO for my weekend toy.

not bad. I got my current MY05 for 21K straight up no haggling with no trade-in. Kept the MY00 for the wife as she drives to work and back and it replaced her '89 crown vic.
