Re: let's talk about blacked out mkIV lights. (SuperStar)

didnt i give you the instructions for painting them?

here's the instructions for painting them.. http://www.geocities.com/joey_joey_joey/lights.html
here's the instructions on putting them in, including how to make your own brackets and wiring. http://www.pocketrocket.on.ca/headlight.htm
nopi has the regular mk4 lights the cheapest at $226 or something like that but they dont have the brackets.

I would get those cheap ones, but i think that I MUST get the brackets too. I know that I couldn't put my Votex in without the brackets so I should just get those too. Prolly another like $30 or so. Do you use sttoneguard on mkIV ?

i havent but i probably should....mine are a tad scratchy now.
i dont plan ahead

personally, i think you should get the brackets too. but like i said, that other site tells you how to make some so if youre comfortable with doing that, it has instructions
o and when you paint them, leave the dummy panel unpainted too. looks a lot better IMO http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

dummy panel is the one on the bottom in the middle right? the thing that the guy up there painted right?
Re: let's talk about blacked out mkIV lights. (Majik6)

Ur, um, I'd suggest just buying them in black from PG Performance for $400 so you don't risk wrecking them while trying to paint them.

yep...well he didnt paint those, thats how the already painted ones come. i left mine there. it definatly is easier just buying them like i said before but if you want to save money, this is the way to go. its really not too hard.

i included this so you could see what the dummy panel looks like unpainted

Well well. I'm getting a little worried about doing it now since I know there is a chance I can mess up. I found a used set with brackets for $300 so I think I may do that.. but the fear factory might make me choke. Lord please be with me as I attempt to save some money.
