I was getting gas at a Getty near my house and saw a ls400 in the corner with no license plate. I went in to talk to someone about it, expressing interest if it should be for sale. Guy tells me it is, or at least its going to be scrapped. I asked why he is scrapping it and he told me to go back outside and check it out from the front on.
Got outside to see the damage. I was told the airbags did not go off (they didn't) and the car still runs. I was in a rush, so I couldn't stay to try and start it. It was dark anyway, I want to see it run in daylight, which I might do tomorrow.
Now as far as $$$ goes, I'm thinking of just offering about $300.00 to take it off his hands. I don't know if it has a valid inspection, regardless its an out of state inspection and I don't know if I could drive it that way anyway. The interior is really dirty, abused in some places, but I can fix all that for cheap. The part costs I'm unsure of would be to fix the front end damage.
From the looks of it I will need both headlights (1 is totally destroyed, the other is filled with condensation), front bumper & supports, hood, possible radiator fans, rad support. If the rad itself if damaged, I'll probably walk. Ohh and its a 94 (he thinks) and has about 250K on the clock.
