I went to relocate my license plate using a tow hook kit. After taking off the license plate, I found a pretty significant mounting plate underneath it that looks like it's pressed onto the bumper. Anyone dealt with one of these? I put it in this forum since it's likely a method used by dealers in Ontario.

Those 4 mounting points are solid and built into the plate. I'm guessing I need to pop them off, but I'm worried about the holes/damage left underneath!

They are pop rivets and will leave large holes in the bumper when you remove the mounting plate. Best to keep your plate as-is, plugging the holes will look worse.

Yeah - that's my thought too looking at the size of them. Just another reason to try and get that Golf R bumper! Ah well! Thanks.

The dealer put my plate on off centred and stripped one of the mounting screws any idea if that piece is replaceable?
