Alright, so the problem is pretty simple, yet highly aggravating. When i'm driving and step on the brake, this only happens every now and then but enough to make me worry, the headlights go out

What could the cause of this be? Possibly a bad ground? If so where at?
BTW its a 97 Jetta GLX
TIA

Re: Light issue need some input (jettagltrek)

Hey Jetta
Do they come back on immediately after you release the brakes? If not, try playing around with the ignition next time it happens... That's what caused my issues.
This might help: http://www.vaglinks.com/Docs/V...Y.pdf

i call ignition switch.
start car, turn on headlights, fiddle with key rather violently but not enough to turn the car off. You'll probably see the same symptoms.
