I saw my driver's side low-beam flicker and fade yesterday while preparing to leave my office. D'oh. 9350 miles, car's just over 4 months old. I remember reading a lot of complaints about earlier model years with bad batches of bulbs... I guess this applies to MY2002 as well. Will dealers typically cover this under the B2B? I know this is a wear and tear item, but there must be some reasonable expected lifetime for a bulb. I'll call them later today, after checking my manual for warranty details.
Dang it, I don't want to make a special visit to the dealer for this, but my next service won't be for about a month.
On a completely different note, in the "hey, that's pretty cool" category: The speedometer on my Passat works in reverse! I don't know if that's typical of cars these days, but I noticed that a while ago and noticed it again this morning. I wonder if it applies reverse distance to the milage indicator?

Re: Lights out (BZZZZ_02_1.8t_Passat)

Yeah, that is a bit strange. The only reason it's that high is because I took a road trip to Atlanta, GA (from NY) in November. Plus I'm back and forth to PA every month or so. My daily commute doesn't lend itself to high mileage.
