lol, i walked into the dealer's mechanic shop area, and walked up to some dude and asked him, he gave me a set for free

hint: just go up to the mechanics cuz they dont give the poop

Search on eBay for vw removal keys. I bought 2 sets of the newer flat keys for $6 shipped for BOTH pairs!

I've found that the best/cheapest key is if you make one using the metal from a "hanging file folder" it has the hook on it and works great...

Those keys look like what you would use to remove a Blaupunkt head unit. I haven't owned a Bluapunkt head unit for about 10 years or so, but (if I recall correctly) they did have 4 holes, one near each corner of the unit's face.
As far as removing the OEM VW head units, some people have cut an old credit card into strips wide enough to fit into the slits at each side of the head unit. Apparently, you push these "keys" into the slots and they disengage some tabs that hold the head unit in place. Note: this applies to the single-DIN unit. I can't vouch for the double-DIN unit.

yea.. those look exactly like the Ford Keys... which worked in some older year VW's.

Those Ford style are what I would use, but I use 4 nails instead.

I was just at the dealer, they have the newer ones hanging on a bulliten board at the parts the department. Kindof funny.

omfg thats expensive!!! you dont need special keys at all really!! ive removed head units using zip ties, its easy, dont bother spending money, just fiddly around with zip ties, its not hard at all.
update: just wanted to clear this up, no i dont steal stuff, just my friends dont like spending money when its not necessary so they just take their hu's out with zip ties when necessary
