Short vid to set the mood.

A few weekends ago I accompanied my brother to the ring.
I wasn't quite sure what to expect as I am a pessimist through and through, but needless to say I wish to now live in germany and become a ring monkey for the rest of my life.
Our party consisted of : 993 carrera S, 993 turbo, m3 CSL, dc2 Integra Type R, and a whitechapel spec 318is beater with half the demontweeks wideboy catalogue on it.
Setting off from London
My bro recently installed the KW variant 3's on the 993s and it was a bumpy ride to the chunnel.
We had to stop in belgium to pick up/install some RSR exhausts.
A lovely belgian farmhouse in the middle of a small village, with a massive ex aircraft repair warehouse at the back.
The owner of the business was a bloke named Girt? who was also possibly the nicest mechanic I have ever met. Runs a mainly internet porsche parts business and supplies people like Axl Rose.
Also has hot wife (no pics).
Prototype electric go kart with gt3 cup car electric cutout.
Drove through to germany
After getting major bumsteers from the GPS system and ending up offroad, we finally got to the track at 7pm just missing the days session.
headed back to the bed and breakfast.
I would highly recommend this series of b&b's to anyone heading to the ring. They are situated 5 minutes from track, with fantastic views of the local countryside, good hearty home cooked german breakfasts and a fantastic atmosphere. Plenthy of other Ringers to talk crap to.
Cost about 60 euros for two nights.
The only picture of a car I took in the pits was of this 2002. There are so many gt3's, csl's etc that it sort of gets pointless after a while. Did manage to see this doing a few laps though: was hot! http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
The first time I pulled onto the straight the first thought that came into my mind was: 'This is nothing like playstation".
Then when I hit the first downhill stretch and felt my sphincter pucker up it was like "this seems a tad steeper than I recall on gran turismo"
By the end of the lap you are left wondering how the bloody hell that frenchman in the 106gti overtook you on the outside whilst 4 wheel drifting over a blind crest.
It took me a few more laps for my fear and awe to subside slightly and I began to realise just how phenomenal this place is.
this place is like a church where people should come and study. Lives should be dedicated to conquer the mysteries of the ring.
We were lucky enough to be accompanied by two NZ porsche cup drivers who took us for hotlaps.
The BMW CSL was an amazing machine. Everyone who rode/drove it came away wanting one badly. The stability, consistency and calmness in which it lapped was just ridiculous. It wasn't that much slower than the turbo on the straights either.
The 993 turbo had very smooth power but I didn't like it too much. I only passengered in it but it felt a bit heavier/sloppier than the other cars.
The 993S was to me the perfect everyday car. Its still got an old school feel, but is fairly reliable. It isnt ridiculously fast but just enough and it does everything well. The handling is very progressive
The ITR was well down on power but had quite a skilled driver. He had some pretty impressive corner speeds and as a result was always on the arse of the other cars.
At the end of each day we ate at Sabine's restaurant in the village. nothing like a day of racing and then a big arse piece of cow on a hot rock with several steins of german wheat beer.
It's difficult to put into words, but it was almost a biblical/life changing weekend for me.
Project nurburgring definitely begins from this day on...
The incar vids I have are too large for youtube, but here are some of the smaller ones
