if you don't want to go with a new sway bar, you can buy sway bar extension links, i just bought some...they are longer than the oem ones so that there is more clearance for the drive shaft...cost me all of $45...... http://www.electrodyne.cc/Merchant2...Y&Store_Code=ED&Category_Code=golf4&Offset=40

holy crap!!!! for realz!!!!!!!!!! are yours installed??? how hard is tit to install?
Re: what are all the VW sites?? (DanMalX)

Link extensions was the first thing that came to mind when I was installing my suspension. I thought to myself, why in the world would anyone replace this sway bar when all you need are longer links. They take all over about 60 seconds to install assuming your wheel is off.
Re: what are all the VW sites?? (DanMalX)

It is super easy...all you do is unbolt your oem ones and replace with the new links....like he said, all of 60 seconds

Just remember, endlinks will work with mild lowering but you won't get enough clearance with the Cup kit. How do I know, I had the endlinks on with the H&R sports but when I switched over to the race, it went beyond the range of adjustment. I have Neuspeed bars on order.

thanks...i was on the verge of ordering them before you said that..........dammit i love the vortex

Actually, I just put on race springs, with the end links, and no problems at all...perfect clearence, and I have a 2000 gti, supposedly the ones that really need the sway bar. but, hey, you can always take the sway bar out and chuck it....

You have to use them correctly. I'm using them and am on coilovers dumped more than a cup kit...no problems.
People install these links and dial they waaaay up. Thinking...higher is better. The farther away from the shaft the better.
Not.
The edge, or "blade" of the shaft is what typically rubs first/most. It's proximity to the shaft is not really in up-down, as it is in side-side.
By dialing the links to the moon, you close the side-side clearance (the mounting range is an arc, not a line) and then the blade is actually closer to the shaft.
I learned this and dialed my links DOWN. No problems.
PS-those who wonder if these are the way to go...Porsche GT3's run adjustable links, so I think we'll be OK.

Do you have a picture of your endlink clearance? Mine's hitting on the passenger side. Too high and it hits the end of the swaybar. Too low and it hit the arc. Need some help.
