LOUD WHIRRING RUMBLE AT IDLE!!! PLEASE HELP

As said above, at first I thought it was an alternator bearing but almost sounds higher up like in head, seems to be an independant noise almost like a crunching. No A/C its a 16V, I had a new cam installed and new timing belt and tensioner, im confused and pissed, it makes my car sound like such a piece of crap when i pull up next to someone. Car runs like it always has just that damn crunching noise. Hope someone has some input. I have dumped so much cash in my 16V and am almost ready to give up but dont want to. Please help

I hope whoever did your cam didn't put the cam bearings on backwards. I don't remember if you can on a 16V but on an 8V you can. They're tapered one way so it could be ugly if that's the problem

Cam cant go in backwards, and there is no metal chips in oil or anything like that and I did listen with a screwdriver and thats how I figured out it was not the altanator. Come on guys I need better input than this
Oh and it is not a G60 and sounds nothing like a supercharger, my factory bad power steering pump takes care of that noise. Damn Futrell

You didn't give us much to go on, got a sound recording of it?
Have you looked at the cam caps?
If you're sure it's in the cam cover take it off.

And unfortunately at this moment I cant take the intake manifold off cause i got 1 stripped hex bolt that I cant get out
