The rattle and oil pressure warning is from the engine, so we can focus only on the engine oil.

What is the oil level?
Is the filter good quality? Could it collapse and restrict flow?
Of course - did you add enough oil?
And - any chance you lost all oil?

The filter I'm using is this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001DRHMPK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Just went out to check and the stick is bone dry. I'm so confused. I added around 4.5L when I did it.
How many miles did you drive?

your engine is consuming it or you have a leak. im betting its been consumed and a knock is bad news bear
C'mon, 4.5 liters of oil consumed? That is either a diesel or runaway engine. It would take a few thousand miles to burn this much oil and still - it would puff smoke like a dragon.

Any physical damage to the oil pan? Loose or stripped plug?

But would it hurt to throw oil back in it and run it to see if that “noise” continues?
Nope, at this point you can do that.
Add oil, check dip stick, verify. Start.
Pray in the meantime...
