my car has a low ticking noise when im at idle.and wheni drive off it gets faster an a lil louder. and its no cuz its cold cuz it stays even afer thecar is warm. my other friends vr doesnt have this sound. ne one know what it might be

A bunch of us have this problem and most seem to think it's the timing chain and it's guides. I'd like to know how much it would cost to get these replaced if anyone's dunnit. The clicking sound under hard acceleration is really annoying.

I had a buddy with an A3 Jetta and his fan assembly was wobbly and the fan was smacking the edge of the shroud. He had to get a new fan motor or some kind of assembly. Sorry I can't be more specific, but you might want to check that out.

Sorry, there are hyraulic lifters used in these motors. I can't think of a modern production engine that uses solid lifters.
