I've heard from some people that if you buy coilovers without buying new shocks, that your stock shocks will be fried in less than 6 months. Just curious as to what you guys think about that. I'm not about to spend 1 grand just to lower my car a couple of inches with a true coilover set when i can spend like 100 bucks on lowering springs.

Re: Lowering Springs/Coilovers on stock shocks (John A)

Lowering springs without shocks is just asking for trouble.
Your shocks will fail earlier, and you car will ride and handle awful in just a few short months.
WHen installing lowering sport springs, install shocks at the same time.
You can purchase kits around the $500-600 range. You don't need to go all out and get coilovers.
