yeah...i'm talkin' 'bout an M62 eaton supercharger (or any eaton) in place of a G-lader on a 16V.
there's got to be one lurking around somewhere

Currious now... the price of a super charger like that vs a turbo setup. Now supers just seem bloody expensive, but you could use your existing exhaust system.
I guess that price of special charger mounts would add up too.

let's just say for arguments' sake that i have a G60 engine and a 16V laying around

now let also say that i need to buy a new supercharger anyway...ahem...and since we all like unique mods...if one were so inclined...

one might be interested in building one.
i.e. BBM supercharger integration kit + joezx6 eaton kit + G60 parts + 16V engine =

the real problem is the syncro transfer shaft

This setup won 3rd place in its drag race group during VW Forum 2002, Europe´s biggest VW show of the year, it´s running the 1/4 mile in early april soon, I predict a low 14 second time for it...

There is a guy in this area that has a "G60" 16V with the CLK charger conversion. I haven't had a chance to see it run(though I have been told that it does), but perhaps I will get a chance this year.

When running the CLK with the merc sized Pulley you will have to run pretty high static compression as the M62 is geared for longvity (giving maybe only 6psi boost). Otherwise you will have less power than with a G60 conv.
When gearing the M62 to deliver some fun it is delivering some pretty annoying wine and has only a short livespan.
BTW the VW Forum drag is only 140 or so meters.

uh...low 14's...thats pretty bad for that motor...my buddy ran a 14.16 normally apsirated, without tb's or carbs too...

Correct. I´m no fan of the Eaton either. And Castrop has a 150m track. But a 3rd is still a 3rd place.

Remember that engine is in a Corrado with full interior, with music and stuff. So the time is okay...
