Re: Magnaflow exhaust installation costs in the Philly region?

AWE in Chestnut Hill charges $70/hr for labor and if it's all new and all the parts are included it shouldn't take more than 1 hour 30 min. or so. It's a good location too....places to go while they are working on your car.

Yeah, I was thinking of getting it done there while I get chipped up. Is there quality of work the best there? And are you going to the GTG GreenGTI?

well, i put my magnaflow exhaust on in my driveway with some jackstands, it took me less than an hour. the biggest hassle was cutting off the factory exhaust, but if you have the pipe cutting tool, no prob
id say do it yourself and save the cash but if you have to have a shop do it, go to AWE, those guys are great http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Synthsis,
How hard was it to install the exhaust? Any real problems? Are there instructions included in the box? If not, where did you get them. Also, where can you get a pipe cutter?

I went to Mr. Muffler, Midas and ended up going to a local non-specialised garage. 55 $/hr, 45 minutes. Anything over 50$ would have been too much (for me) and I am spezking about CND$$$. The "specialised" places wanted 80-100 $

ok,well my tips are even , no rattles and it has a real nice sound, not ricey at all. the pipe cutter dealy has 4 clamps that screw down over the pipe, you wiggle it back and forth twice and bam, your stock exhaust it cut. there are instructions in the box that are pretty straight forward. if i wasnt so damn busy with work id help you put it on. let me know if you have any other questions

Well thanks for the offer. I just hate paying so much around here, when it doesnt take that much to put on. Where can I get that pipe cutter? Do the whole car need to be elevated to install this?
