This is corey , Ive dealt with alot of you with the previous 4 or 5 group buys. I just wanted to take a moment to thank all you guys for all the positive comments, and even the negative ones as the help us in the long run.
I wanted to get a poll going to see what you all think of the systems, +/- doesnt matter. Want to get some other stuff rolling here and could use this as a excellent starting place........
So post away, im leaving the poll open for answer's......
This can include other stuff such as 2.5" systems or different tip options
Just so its not off topic

Hi Corey,
Thanks for the poll....I'm getting mine installed tomorrow and will report the results back here.
I don't know if leaving the poll open was the best idea though.....you gotta watch for the troll factor when starting polls.
Good luck!
David

Re: MAGNAFLOW Owners, Everyone please read and respond!!!! (GreenGTI)

does magnaflow have a 2.5 inch for the vr6, if so how much, and if you do have one have you ever dynoed it versus stock

Mine is still sitting in the box. I took it out looked at it, checked it out for visual defects and just to feel how heavy it is. Hopefully, one of these days I will get a weekend to install all of the parts that I seem to be collecting. One thing that would be cool is a hidden tip. One of the first things I look for on a car, is the exhaust. If I see the big Honda coffee can, I just start laughing. But hidden would be stealth!

i love the look and sound of my friends magnaflow on his VR

Great construction and quality for the price – the sound is amazing on the VR6 http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

I have the kit on my 1.8T. Looks great and sound killer. Not too loud but not stock sounding either.....just right http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Re: MAGNAFLOW Owners, Everyone please read and respond!!!! (Lord of the Blings)

i got my magnaflow thru the group buy on pocketrocket.on.ca
It's a great sounding system, but i have one complaint:
on my 2.0, there it quite a lot of droning in 5th gear between 3000 and 4500 RPM - which is the highway cruising range for the 2.0.
Will covering the floor of the hatch with dynamat help reduce the droning or am i gonna have to live with it?
otherwise http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif . even the shop that installed it for me commented on how well teh fit was.

Corey,
I love the look and sound of my magnaflow, thus I answered that way on your poll. However, my only suggestion for magnaflows (about which I've spoken to you about) is that you should offer one that will fit with the 4motion valence. I understand that it's a relatively small market, but I'd think it'd be easy to do from the manufacturing standpoint. It'd save people like me the trouble of having to find someone who's good at welding stainless steel to get the tips repositioned!
Glad to see that you guys are looking for our input. I think that reflects very well on the company as a whole.
Re: MAGNAFLOW Owners, Everyone please read and respond!!!! (Lugnut)

Yes!!! Make one that is 4-mo compatible out of the box and I'll be all over it.
Re: MAGNAFLOW Owners, Everyone please read and respond!!!! (zilla)

Love the price & look...install & fit was excellent...only downside is droning sound inside of car, at under 2800rpm(upon acceleration)...idling is fine, sounds sweet...no droning above 3000rpm with vr6.
Design tips to hang higher...more adjustable hanger or different bends in tailpipe portion.
Re: MAGNAFLOW Owners, Everyone please read and respond!!!! (zilla)

Corey,
I can not thank you enough for giving us Vortex members the opportunity to buy this product at such an unbelievable price. The shop which performed the install for me made a lot of comments about the construction, the fittiment of the Three pieces and the sound after install. Night and Day difference compared to the stock system which resembles a "moon shine still." It begs the question for VW, "Why have such a performance vehicle and put such a lousy exhaust system on it?"
With all of the years that I spent in Germany, I dont recall seeing any exahust systems like we have here in CA. Corey again thanks for your efforts the system looks and sounds great. I can not wait for your next item whatever it maybe, but put me down for One.
Michael

i d be very interested in a 2.5" system if not for the fact that my engine block is cracked. i do commend everyone for keeping the poll porcupine free thus far. oh, and thanx to magnaflow for even caring what we think.

Re: MAGNAFLOW Owners, Everyone please read and respond!!!! (Lord of the Blings)

I got my system through a group buy on here a couple of months ago and my only complaint is that my tips are not level. I'm not sure if it's a mounting problem, or they just aren't welded on level, but other than that and a little droning around 2000 rpm I like the system alot.
Re: MAGNAFLOW Owners, Everyone please read and respond!!!! (FunkdubiousGTI)

id say its a mounting problem, mine are even it jsut takes 2 people, one to hold the tips level and another to tighter everything up.
Re: MAGNAFLOW Owners, Everyone please read and respond!!!! (Lord of the Blings)

u guys should put some nicer tips, kinda like remus style 90mm dual rounds!! oh yah
Re: MAGNAFLOW Owners, Everyone please read and respond!!!! (ronny5)

I had some mounting problems ´cause I installed it without help. Now its amazing, I´m really happy with it. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

you guys should make a system specifically to fit in the 4 motion rear hole! I need it like an addict needs a hit

I've been dealing with the same problem on my 2.0
I have put dynamat and beaver tail (dynamat replica) in all 4 doors, in the rear hatch panel, the entire trunk/spare tire floor, and under my rear seats. It did help some but not with the "under load" accelerating droning at cruising speed. If the road is level it's fine but any incline in the road and it gets damn loud.
Unfortunately in golfs, the exhaust pipes exit right under the rear window which you can't do anything about the sound coming through the glass.
I am actually going to try adding a second resonator next week to see if that helps. I do like the sound and responsiveness, but I could do without the droning at cruising speeds. http://www.b-quiet.com/beavertail.html Exact same stuff as Dynamat but half the price.
