What the heck could this be??
I'm driving to work today and about a mile from my exit my beetle makes this nasty whining noise, I lose power, and it strts billowing bluish white smoke from the exhaust. I'm close to work so I put on the hazards and crawl into the parking lot. I call the dealer (Concours Motors in Milwaukee) and they tell me NOT to drive it...call a flat bed and get it to 'em a.s.a.p.! I'm thinkin' its a toasty turbo. Any thoughts?
I've got a 98 TDI with 76,000 miles on it. I bought it new so it has been well taken care of. If it is the turbo, is it covered under the 100,000 powertrain warranty?
Any help or thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated!
