I'm looking for a local Maryland bodyshop to do some work on my Mk III Golf. I need the shop to do good work, and would prefer if it was in Montgomery County (either in Rockville, Silver Spring, Wheaton, etc.) If you have a personal contact or friend at the shop that would be even better. I like dealing with people I can come to know better than just walking into a shop and talking to a stranger who doesn't care about what he's doing.

Hey Umm ... I know a guy who's awesome at what he does and he does it on the side (I could show you pics of stuff he's done) but he's in Calvert County. He does body work, paint, conversions. He's into imports himself and has hooked up some really nice cars. But if you're looking for estimates I'd get one from him, I bet he'll be cheaper than anyone you find, it'll just be a bit of a drive. But it's worth it cause if anything happens to your car like little things or need little things painted, he's always there, does it quick and won't cost you an arm and a leg. I realize that it is not in Montgomery county but the best bodyshop I have personally ever seen is Annapolis Collision ... www.annapoliscollision.com/. Ted Spiegel is the guy that painted and repaired the body on my Scirocco and his work is absolutely top notch! He does everything from basic crash work to custom paint and sheet metal work; if you go tell him that you are from VWVortex and he will give you a break on the labor rate.
