Re: Matching cams with shrick intake (vagvr6)
I prefered the VGI & 256s simply because the 256 enhanced the VGI bump and then some. Most of my driving is between 2,500 and 6,200 rpm where this combo really shines. The 268 outperform the 256 above 6,200 through 7,100 but I just didn't spend enough time in that rpm range.. and the 256 outperform the 268s from 2,500 to 6,200 rpm. On my daily highway commute I'm at around 3,500 rpm at 75mph in 5th gear. Right in the VGI/256 sweet spot...when I want to pass, drop the throttle and you really moving even in 5th gear. No need to downshift at speed. On the dyno the VGI with 256s still out perform stock setup or just 256 alone above 6,200 rpm. So it's not like your losing anything up top either. Just not getting as much above 6,200 with the 268s, but then you have to trade off low & mid rpm power and torque with the 268 when compared to the 256s. Both work, just depends what your looking for.. max HP #'s or more HP where you use it in daily driving.
