is this thing possibly lowered? Could just be the way its sitting or the extra rear weight or something but none of the other cars were as low as this one. By comparison mine and all the other new GTIs had even wheel spacing on the same incline.

And my 06 for comparison (though I'm sure the 17" wheels throw this off a bit)

Well, the GTI has different springs... if thats what you're asking...

I would say that the Huffs and the color make the wheel gap less noticeable since your 17s and tires will have a very close circumference to the 18" Huffs and tires since those tires should be a lower profile than yours. Also the UG GTI's suspension might have sagged/settled a bit?.

my 07 rabbit is is 1/2 lower than the 06's i would assume your gti is to0

That's the stock ride height for sure. 18s make it less noticeable.
