IIRC the Big Mac has basically 2 Euro E36 M3 engines (S50s) sharing a common crank, a different head arrangement, no flywheel etc. The 850CSI has different heads also. Plus, the 850CSi is always going to be a fat ass unless you reengineer the entire car and take 1500 lbs out of it. You can actually keep a 850CSI running.
Tangent - why does a McLaren even use a head gasket? I would have o-ringed the block....
